The Rossmoor 18ers played the Blue and White tournament on July 11. 44 members were paired by the golf shop and were divided into two teams. Two blue team members played against two white team members. The white team had a winning score of 226 points and the blue team had 206 points. The blue team treated the white team to a hot dog lunch.
Birdies were made by Janice Davis on Hole 16 and Darlene Martel on Hole 18.
Chip-ins were made Linda Ingalls on Hole 2, Helen Chung and Janice Davis on Hole 6, Sue Yoon on Hole 7, Cletia Bowron on Hole 8 and Jacky Dunn on Hole 11.
Following lunch Captain Denise Pratt chaired a general meeting. She will be posting a sign up sheet in the pro shop for members that have interest in assisting with next year’s tournament. Captain Pratt is also looking for members to assist with the board of directors. Pratt reminded members of the upcoming August 22 Guest Day. Members that do not have guests can sign up as a single and a foursome will be formed. Robin Moreau, East Bay Team Play chair, announced that the Rossmoor team has moved up three places.
Thanks to Theresa Kim, chair person, and her committee of Joan Baggett and Grace Nitta for organizing the fun tournament, Bruce Mulanax, Golf Pro, for score tabulation and team pairings, Peter Kim, Gayl Westendorf and Rob Ingalls for barbecuing the delicious hot dogs.
