On Thursday, July 11, 46 intrepid women golfers showed up to play in the 6-6-6 tournament, despite predictions of extremely hot weather. Not everyone finished the round as the temperature soared to the high 90s, but most of the two-woman teams completed the game. The format was such that each six-hole grouping was scored in a different manner: Holes 1 – 6 were best ball; Holes 7 – 12 were alternate shot; Holes 13 – 18 were a scramble.
Flight winners were as follows. Flight 1 first place, Jayoung Lee and Joanne Kim with a total team score of 66. Second place, Joan Binnings and Theresa Kim with a score of 68.
Flight 2 first place, Laura Kim and Sharon Marshall with a score of 69. Second place, Janet Choi and Okey Ro with a score of 72.
Flight 3 first place, Marsha Jennings and Esta Podberesky with a score of 70. Second place, Donna Erickson and Pam Phippin also with a score of 70.
Flight 4 first place, Robin Moreau and Orene Sanders with a score of 69. Second place, Myra Belfiore and Gail Ramirez with a score of 74. Congratulations to all the flight winners and kudos for sticking with it in such challenging circumstances.
Birdies were shot by Theresa Kim on Hole 4 and Joan Binnings on Hole 13.
There were two chip-ins, one by Theresa Kim on Hole 4, and one by Robin Moreau on Hole 7.
