The Women 18ers East Bay Team competed at Round Hill against Crow Canyon Country Club on Thursday, August 16, earning more points for their overall standings in the league. East Bay Team Play (EBTP) consists of 14 East Bay Country Clubs with the purpose of playing friendly competitions against each other for the title of Champions. Throughout the season, three two-woman teams from each club travel to different member courses, competing against another club’s teams. Every competition requires grit and skill and a strong understanding of the strategies of Match Play. Golf is tough enough, and when the mind game and intricacies of match play are added, it becomes like chess. Players can never let their guard down and never give up. Those who battled at Round Hill were: A Team, Claudia Terry and Theresa Kim; B Team, Jayoung Lee and Laura Kim; C Team, Jean Carroll and Robin Moreau. Players stated that the 100 degree weather made the day more challenging and were grateful to Round Hill support staff who delivered chilled water and cold towels to the players.
The last match will also be the awards ceremony, which will take place at the host club, Oakhurst Country club, on August 31. Rossmoor teams will be competing against Green Valley and we wish them good luck along with birdies and fun.
