On Thursday, September 19, 53 Rossmoor Women’s 18ers competed in a Stableford game where a net birdie earned three points, a net par earned two points, a net bogey earned one point and anything higher than a net bogey was worth no points. Unlike most golf game formats, in the Stableford game the player with the most points wins. All of the greens on the Stanley Dollar course are still recovering from having been sanded so there was a two-putt maximum allowed and once again the scores were not postable.
Winners in the first flight were as follows: First place, Joan Binnings with a total of 45 points; second place, Jayoung Lee with 42 points; third place, Grace Nitta with 39 points; fourth place, Daisy Soo Hoo with 38 points; and fifth place, Jun Chao with 36 points.
Second flight: First place, Ann Hamilton with 46 points, the highest score in the field; second place, Toni Snyder with 41 points; third place, Mirna Wong also with 41 points; fourth place, Yunho Ju with 41 points as well; and fifth place, Ki Hee Lee with 40 points.
Third flight: First place, Jean Wright with 39 points; second place, Denise Pratt with 38 points; third place, Marsha Jennings also with 38 points; fourth place, Jenny Kim with 35 points; and fifth place, Robin Moreau with 34 points.
Fourth flight: First place, Bari Mantel with 37 points; second place, Orene Sanders with 35 points; third place, Sandy Forschler also with 35 points; fourth place, Karin Romak with 34 points; and fifth place, Joanne Brennan with 32 points.
