William (Bill) Herrick
Bill has become a great asset to our board. His past participation on the RMGC board of directors explains his historical experience and understanding of our club.

2013 – 2015 Treasurer, Secretary/Treasurer
He now serves at the pleasure of our President Fred Sun as his Assistant as well as the board’s historian and parliamentarian
Bill was born 1/28/1933 in Jennings, Louisiana. He grew up in the Midwest (MO, COL, KS). He spent two years at York College (Nebraska), and then two years in the U. Navy. He graduated from Westmar College (Iowa) in 1957. Bill married Rosemary MacCanon in 1956. Between 1957-1969 they had four children David, Laurie, Leslie, and Rob. Bill completed his Master’ s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Iowa in 1959. He worked for the State of Iowa, Vocational Rehabilitation Services for 33 and half years starting as a Counselor, then Supervisor Staff Development, and finally the Administrative Services Bureau Chief. He then retired in 1995.
Bill moved to Rossmoor in October 1997 and joined RMGC in 1998. He became a Course Marshal in 1999 and was Chief Marshal from July 2000 to January 2015.
So if you ever have a question concerning the RMGC Bill should be your go to person. So if you get the chance to play with him, relish it. He is one of those golfers who is a credit to the sport. Now you know – so when you greet him thank him for his service. Many of the things provided by the RMGC for your enjoyment come from Bill’s selfless service.
