The event started with a social hour with beverages and conversations about good memories from the 2018 golf season.

President Fred Sun then called the final general membership meeting of 2018 to order. President Sun provided a great power point presentation breaking down where the money from the membership dues goes and the benefits that are provided to the members.
Mark Heptig, Director of Golf for Rossmoor then shared the many improvements made to the golf courses in 2018. This included the renovation and restructure of the 9th green on the Dollar Ranch course. He also acknowledged the assistance of Assistant Pro Brent Mulanax in ensuring the many RMGC events ran smoothly. The RMGC has always appreciated Brent’s assistance and wants to especially thank him for his dedication and service to the club.
The present and outgoing board of directors were introduced. The incoming directors nominated by the club’s nominating committee were then unanimously approved.
Incoming directors for 2019 are from the left Ed O’Dea, John Benshoff, Tom Snyder and Rich Fuller (not present).
Chuck Clare who was assisting Chuck Moran is now taking over as the Invitational Chairman. Mike Kiefer, who as been the Home and Home Chairman is now taking over the duties as Treasurer. Burke Ferrari is now the new Home and Home Chairman after being the assistant Chairman for the past year. Brent Atkins is now the President Elect for 2019 as well as serving as the Tournament Director. He has been the assistant director for the past year. The outgoing directors are Past President Chuck Leong, Treasurer Dick Walsh, Tournament Director Curtis Mitchell and Invitation Chairman Chuck Moran. The RMGC wishes to thank them for their selfless service and their many contributions to improvements within the club during their tenures. The general membership meeting was then adjourned and a great pre-thanksgiving meal provided by the Creekside staff with all the trimmings.
Once dinner was completed Tournament Director Curtis Mitchell took the floor to present the awards to winners of the trophy events in 2018.

Brent “Yak” Atkins obviously finally being at a loss for words after being helped into his first RMGC Green Jacket by five time winner Curtis Mitchell for winning the 2018 Match Play Championship. His final match with Clif Schofield finally ended on the 22nd Hole – way to persevere Yak!!

Brent “Yak” Atkins 2018 Match Play Champion is welcomed into the RMGC Green Jacket Fraternity by Curtis Mitchell 2018 Stroke Play Champion whose own Green Jacket has a total of 10 Championships, 5 Stroke and 5 Match. The Trophies they are holding are the Match Play Championship and Stroke Play Championship representing their winnings in 2018.
The RMGC Board and membership wishes to thank outgoing President Fred Sun for his outstanding leadership throughout 2018. We won’t miss you till the end of next year Fred when your presence on the Board as Past President will end. Great job in 2018, the RMGC camaraderie has been enhanced by your devotion to inclusivity. RMGC’s success in staging all its events reflects your determination to do things right.
The Board of Directors and the RMGC membership welcomes the incoming President Pat Iacullo who has been the club secretary and President Elect for 2018. We all look forward to Pat’s already demonstrated organizational skills and leadership as we move into 2019.
