Happy Hackers Golf Club
At the time it was formed, the Happy Hackers was Rossmoor’s only co-ed golf group and did not require a handicap. With the help of Mark Heptig, Golf Director the club was formed in 1994 with over 100 men and women joining. The club established its By-Laws and defined a framework on which to build. When word got around to other active adult community golf clubs that Rossmoor had a co-ed group, calls were received from golf clubs as far away as Boise, Idaho, Sun City, Arizona, and Phoenix, Arizona. They were interested in how they too might form a similar club. Happy Hackers quickly became a notable club.
The Happy Hackers schedule nine-hole tournament scrambles monthly from April thru October. Reduced rate clinics covering putting, pitching, chipping, and full swing are scheduled monthly. The tournaments are held on Saturday afternoons followed by a dinner and prizes.
In recent years the membership has averaged over 250 members. The Happy Hackers membership is open to golfers of all playing abilities. Handicaps are not required and all Rossmoor residents are welcome to join.
The original mission of the Hackers makes it possible for members to learn the game along with its rules and traditions as well as improve their skills and abilities. It’s a great way for residents to meet fellow golfers with similar skills and to have fun playing.
Please join us and see how much fun golf can be.
