The 18ers held the Club Championship, the only major of the year, over three days: September 3, 8 and 10. The field started with 44 members (best turnout) but due to the bad air conditions 16 members were not able complete all three rounds. Joyce McCann emerged as the winner with a low gross of 251. This is the third time that Joyce has won the title. She did it in the year 2017 and 2018. Her name will be engraved on the perpetual Championship trophy. Claudia Terry is the runner up in the championship flight with a low gross score of 260.
A small group of members gathered at the 18th hole to cheer on the leaders. All three leaders were less than 100 yards to the green, Joyce hit first and her ball landed below the yellow flag, Jayoung hit a fabulous shot over the left bunker to the right of the flag and Claudia hit her ball over the left bunker and it landed perfectly on the left side of the flag. All three players two putted to complete the round. A big round of applause from the members. After a quick calculation it was determined that Joyce was the winner. Mark Heptig, Director of Golf, presented Joyce with the trophy.
Below are results for the rest of the field:
championship flight: Jayoung Lee low net 221.
