RMGC Member Appreciation Tournament Results
In one of the largest turnouts since 2020, 80 RMGC golfers competed on both the Dollar and Creekside courses on May 17 in an event financially sponsored and hosted by the RMGC Board.
The tournament was named The Wana Make It, due to its linked to the PGA Championship and the famous Wanamaker Trophy. Due to size of the field, there were 4 flights with 8 teams in each flight on the Dollar Course and 1, 8 team flight on the Creekside course. The tournament used the Chapman scoring format where each player hit their tee shot, then played the other teammates ball and finally choose 1 ball to alternates shots until the hole was finished.
This tournament also had each team linked to a PGA pro who is playing on May 18. The score of the RMGC team will be linked to the PGA pro’s score to determine final results.
Making the event even more special was a hot dog lunch with ice cream and refreshments served to the players at the picnic area. Chef Bryan Burnett provided his culinary expertise in feeding everyone.
