Rossmoor hosted East Bay Team Play, July 28, on the Dollar Ranch Golf Course. A field of 84 players from the following country clubs participated in the event: Berkeley, Contra Costa, Moraga, Sequoyah, Claremont, Blackhawk, Ruby Hill, Green Valley, Castlewood, Crow Canyon, Round Hill and Oakhurst.
The Men’s Club Ambassadors transported players’ golf clubs from the parking lot to players’ carts. Twenty-eight members of the 18ers Women’s Golf Club volunteered for the event assisting with sign-in, escorting players to holes, spotting holes and performing as marshals around the course.
The day started with range balls and warm-up, then full breakfast at the Creekside Grill. Players competed in four-ball match play pitting one country club against another. The day turned out to be cool and ideal for the friendly rivalry for which EBTP is known. Creekside Grill catered the well-deserved lunch at the Event Center, immediately following the competition.
The Rossmoor A, B and C teams played brilliantly against the Sequoyah Country Club teams, scoring 29 gross points and 28 net points, to Sequoyah’s 25 gross and 26 net points, moving Rossmoor up to ninth place.
Special thanks to the Men’s Club ambassadors, 18er volunteers and the pro shop for their assistance making this a smoothly run, successful event.
There are only two more matches for the 2022 season. The next match will be on August 16 at Round Hill Country Club.
