The Rossmoor Men’s Golf Club (RMGC) held one of their two signature tournaments of the year. The event was a total stroke tournament with round #1 being played on Saturday, June 10 and round #2 was played on Wednesday, June 14.
There were two Championships for this tournament. The Stroke Play Championship was played at scratch from the blue tees.
Back again to claim yet another championship is Curtis Mitchell. Curtis held on to take this year’s two-day championship with a total gross score of 163, which was one stroke better than 2021 champion, Tom Snyder. Curtis has amassed more championships than any other RMGC member in the history of the club. Well done Curtis!
The Director’s Cup Net Championship was played from the tee box of the players’ choice. Final scores were net of the players’ handicap. Our winner, Greg Gould, successfully defended his championship. This is the first time a RMGC member has accomplished that feat. Greg’s two day net total of 135 included a gross 77, which gave him a net 63 on the second day. Fantastic round for Greg! Next year Greg can go for three in a row!
