Members of the Rossmoor Women’s 18-Hole Golf Club celebrated with old and new friends at their annual holiday party in the Event Center on December 5th.
Del Poirier, Social Chair, welcomed the group.  She extended appreciation to her committee of Olivia Hsueh, Joanne Brennan, Nancy Ringelstein and Gail Ramirez for their support.  Poirier also thanked the bartenders Michael Oakey and Harry Laiolo for their assistance and Creekside Restaurant for catering the event.
Denise Pratt, Captain, thanked the pro shop staff of Mark Heptig, Brent Mulanax, Wayne Weckerlin, Tom Dial, Jacque Vigil for their assistance throughout the year.
Teddi Swanson, Tournament Chair, expressed deep gratitude to Brent Mulanax for his dedication to the18ers this year.  His assistance with the pairings and score tabulations made Swanson’s running of the weekly outings seamless.
Many of the members contributed five dollars to the birdie pot this year.  The funds were distributed amongst 32 members that hit birdies.  Claudia Terry made the highest number birdies again this year on Thursday play for a total of twelve birdies.  Joyce McCann made 7 birdies, Daisy Soo Hoo and Olivia Hsueh 5, Teddi Swanson, Cletia Bowron, Janet Choi, all made 4 birdies.  The birdie results are posted in the pro shop.
Some notable highlights for the year:  Chip-Ins, Shin Kim made five chip-ins for the year, the largest number for the club.  Most rounds played anywhere:  Darlene Martel 130, Agnes Shin 116, Claudia Terry 115.  Most rounds played at Rossmoor:  Agnes Shin 115, Theresa Kim 106, Daisy Soo Hoo 100.  Members that played the most East Bay Team Play matches:  Joyce McCann 8 rounds, Daisy Soo Hoo 7 rounds and Toni Snyder 6 rounds.  Hole-In-Ones:  Agnes Shin and Joan Munn on hole number ten and Janet Choi on hole number four.
Eclectic awards were presented to the following members:  Overall low gross 76 Grace Nitta and overall low net 57 Jayoung Lee.  First flight: low gross 78 Janet Choi, first low net 58 Joanne Kim, second low net 60 Daisy Soo Hoo, third low net 62 Olivia Hsueh, fourth low net 64 Joan Munn.  Second flight:  low gross 87 Toni Snyder, first low net 60 Joanne Brennan, second low net 60 Teddi Swanson, third low net 63 Pat Taylor, fourth low net 63 Denise Pratt.  Third flight:  low gross 95 Shin Kim, first low net 62 Char Gonzalez, second low net 63 Kathleen Young, third low net 64 Marlene Seffern, fourth low net 64 Jacky Dunn.
The most improved player of the year award was presented to Nancy Park.  Her index in November 2018 was 21.4 and she ended the season with a 18.3 index.
The following were honored:  2019 Handicap Tournament winner Agnes Shin, Club Championship winner Darlene Martel and Charm winner Joanne Brennan.
Captain Pratt presented pendants to members for their outstanding contributions to the club:  Robin Moreau for her service as Captain for the East Bay Team Play for five years, Del Poirier for her many years as Social Chair and Claudia Terry for serving as both the Handicap and Website Chairs.
The new 2020 board was introduced:  Theresa Kim – Captain, Janice Davis – Co-Captain, Robin Moreau – Secretary and Teddi Swanson – Treasurer.
Theresa Kim, the new incoming Captain, presented Denise Pratt with a gift for her outstanding job as the 2019 Captain.
Theresa Kim closed the event wishing members a happy holiday season.
