The Rossmoor 18ers Golf Club had their annual Handicap Tournament over three days, June 6, 18 and 20. The event was originally scheduled for May but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
This event is one of the 18ers two “majors”. The first two days of play were stroke play and the final day was match play.
Players were matched up with similiar handicaps for the first day. On the second day players were matched up by their net results from the first day. On the final day players were matched up with the net totals of day one and day two.
On the final round, Agnes Shin emerged as the Champion, winning on hole 15 against Claudia Terry who finished as Runner-Up. Third place went to Teddi Swanson and fourth place to Margo Dutton.
The winners of the other matches were: Joyce McCann, Joan Baggett, Sue Yoon, Anna Kim, Daisy Soo Hoo, Theresa Kim, Joan Munn. Denise Pratt and Janet Choi tied their match.
Thanks goes to Brent Mulanax, golf pro, for his superb job in handling the event, score tabulations, pairings and tee times. Appreciation to Claudia Terry, Handicap Chair, for organizing the event and Del Poirier, Social Chair, for organizing lunch.
Agnes name will be inscribed on the perpetual trophy. Congratulations to Shin as the 2019 Handicap Champ.
