Jane Lee won the July 16 Charm Day tournament, putting her in contention for the overall Charm Girl winner. She joins three other winners, Del Poirer, Joanne Kim and Jackie Dunn, who will compete on November 11, for the grand prize. There are two more spots open to join in the competition. Those who shoot the lowest net score will be added to the field. The fifth Charm qualifier is on August 18 and the sixth and final opportunity is October 13.

Jane Lee moved to Rossmoor 15 years ago and has played golf with the women’s 18ers for about 12 years. She had to take two years off for back surgery and resumed playing one year ago. She has a great short game and is “tournament tough.” She is a strong contender having battled in, and come very close to winning, a previous year’s Handicap Tournament.

The July 16 play day also included round four of the Eclectic tournament. Players attempt to better scores on individual holes, so regardless of how poorly one might play, she still has the chance to better a hole and eventually take the Eclectic prize. The Eclectic concludes on October 13 giving players two more opportunities to improve.

Fifty-one women competed in the Charm Day on Thursday and the winners are as follows:

Flight one: First place, Joanne Kim, second place, Jun Chao, third, Karla Witte, fourth, Sue Yoon and fifth, Joan Munn. Second flight winners are: First place, Jane Lee, second place, Helen Kay, third place, Marsha Jennings, fourth place, Ann Hamilton and fifth, Margo Dutton. Third Flight winners: First place, Teddi Swanson, second, Jean Carroll, third, Karin Romak, fourth, Denise Pratt, fifth, Gail Ramirez. Fourth flight: First place, Takako Ichikawa, second place, Stella Chan, third place, Sara Ko, fourth place, Joanne Brennan, fifth place, Peggy Yamada.

Congratulations to Jane lee and Birdie and Chip-in ladies and flight winners.
