On Wednesday, May 11, six Rossmoor Women18ers played in the third event of the season in East Bay Team Play.  This game pitted the Rossmoor team against Berkeley Country Club, playing at Moraga Country Club. The game is played for net and gross points and at the end of the season, the cumulative points from both categories establishes the EBTP champion team.

The weather was very accommodating with a scattering of clouds and fairly warm temperatures with light wind. Moraga is a challenging par-71 course and even when playing from the yellow tees, players new to the course can find a lot of trouble with blind shots, narrow fairways and undulating greens.

After the round, Rossmoor added 28.5 gross points and 25.5 net points to their total, while Berkeley CC earned 25.5 gross points and 28.5 net points.

A delicious Mexican lunch was served in the remodeled dining room in the clubhouse which overlooks the pool and tennis courts. Players like to take this time to enjoy hearing how their fellow teammates fared during the round and compare their individual agonies and successes.

The next match will be against the Round Hill team playing at Sequoyah Country Club in Oakland on May 17.

Other exciting events at Rossmoor include the Invitational, the “Rossmoor Round-Up” coming June 1 and 2.
