The 18ers golf club had their annual Halloween Bash tournament on October 26, 2023. This event had a “witch” hat contest as well as a flighted competition. For 2023 the ladies were at the hands of the “witch” on the course not knowing “which” holes would count and “which” holes would not. The nine holes that counted for the match were 1,2,3,7,10,12,16,17 and 18.
The results of the golf matches are as follows by Flight:
Flight 1, 1st Laura Kim, 2nd Jun Chao, 3rd Theresa Kim and 4th Claudia Terry
Flight 2, 1st Marsha Jennings, 2nd Liz James, 3rd Anna Kim and 4th Judy Leckonby
Flight 3, 1st Xuemei Reinhart, 2nd Gail Ramirez, 3rd Jean Wright and 4th Jacky Dunn
Flight 4, 1st Mary Jean Kidd, 2nd Lee Shaffer, 3rd MaryAnn Higgins and 4th Karin Romak
A Birdie was made by Lee Shaffer on Hole 2 and a Chip-in was made by Mary Ann Higgins on Hole 16.
This round of golf was even more memorable for Pat McSween who had a hole in one on hole 10. Congratulations to McSween on her Hole in One.
The winner of the “witch” hat contest was awarded to Joanne Brennan.
Following the round of golf the ladies gathered for a delicious lunch of turkey chili, salad and dessert provided by Boudin. The lunch was followed by the general meeting where the 2024 Board was voted in: Toni Snyder, Captain; Mirna Wong, Co-Captain; Mary Jean Kidd, Treasurer; Judy Moran, Secretary.
