The 18ers Golf Club had their annual Handicap Tournament over three days, May 17th, 22nd and 24th. This event is one of the 18ers’ two “majors”. The first two days of play were stroke play and the final day was match play.
Twenty six players completed the event and were matched up into foursomes with similar handicaps for the first round. On the second day foursomes were matched up by their net results from the first day. For the final day twosomes were formed with the net totals of day 1 and 2.
On the final round, Lynda Pritchett emerged as the Champion, winning on hole 14 against Joan Baggett who finished as Runner-Up. Third place went to Jane Lee and fourth place to Pat Deisem.
The winners of the other matches were: Nancy Groswird, Agnes Shin, Peggy Yamada, Marian Handy, Shin Kim, Olivia Hsueh, Joan Munn, Mary Hufford, Garnet Shelly, Marcia Belcher and Robin Moreau.
Thanks go to Chris Andres from the pro shop for his superb job in handling the event, score tabulations, pairings and tee times. Lynda’s name will be inscribed on the perpetual trophy. Congratulations to Pritchett as the 2018 Handicap Champ.
