On Friday, June 1, 80 two man teams teed it up in the 24th Annual RMGC Invitational. When the scorecards were tallied at end the team of Jim and Matt Pingatore, Father and Son had their Third win. This time coming with a card-off (comparing the scores on the back nine) to defeat the team of Curtis Mitchell and guest Rick Voigt. Both teams had finished with a best ball gross score of even par 72. The Pingatores had a score of 29 on the back nine which won the card-off.
Tournament Director Chuck Moran expressed his deepest appreciation for the great sponsors of the this year’s event. Once more the lead sponsor was XFINITY lead by Jillian Johnson. Walnut Creek Honda again provided their sponsorship along with Mike’s Auto Body, who gave out bottles of wine to players able to put their tee shots into a circle around the hole on the Par 3 10th green. Stan Gideon and his Creekside Staff sponsorship included a great lunch of burgers and chips, as well as great dinner at the conclusion of the event.
Bryan Burnett showed his welcomed skill as the bar tender which numerous players profited. Great food, drinks and awesome camaraderie were the highlights of the evening.
There were numerous winners of raffle prizes which culminated in the final drawing. This was for a brand new driver with a value of $500.
Fred Sun, President of the RMGC won the driver!!! You just have to know Fred, he is really lucky, he bought $20 dollars worth of tickets – 3 tickets – for the raffle he won not only the driver but two other prizes.
