The ladies gathered at the Event Center at 11 to meet and greet each other after the winter time away. The gathering gave the ladies opportunities to sign up for the birdie fund, eclectic play and East Bay Team Play for the 2023 golf season. The ladies also had an opportunity to view Open Day golf opportunities to play at other golf clubs in Northern California, answer a golf rules question with the aid of Joyce McCann and receive technical help with using the Golf Genius computer application.
A delicious lunch with sandwiches, salad and desert was served at noon.
During lunch Margo Dutton, Club Captain, conducted the first general meeting of the year. Margo thanked the social committee for organizing a wonderful beginning to the 2023 golf season.
The 2023 Board was introduced with Mary Jean Kidd, Club Treasurer giving a report announcing the club is in good financial standing in the upcoming year. Teddi Swanson, Membership, introduced the new members who were in attendance: Joy Brown, Allison Caplan, Jenny Han, Pat McSween, Sharon Panagotacos, May Reinhart, Okey Ro, Tesa Theile, Karyl Toms and Mirna Wong.
Margo continued to introduce committee members: the Tech Committee, Claudia Terry, MaryJean Kidd and Laura Kim. Denise Pratt, Tournament Chair said a few things about the upcoming Thursday play days. Claudia Terry – Handicap, Joyce McCann – Rules, Golf Advisory – Robin Moreau, Social – Lana Yagle and Publicity -Claudia Terry and Teddi Swanson. Past Captain – Daisy Soo Hoo, East Bay Team Play captain – Daisy Soo Hoo who said a few words regarding how to sign up to be part of the Team Play events.
Jacque Vigil, 1st Assistant PGA Golf Professional, our ladies 18er guide was introduced and she welcomed everyone back for the 2023 golf season.
Margo Dutton reminded everyone to be conscious of pace of play while on the course during the Thursday play days and to post their golf scores the day they play.
The meeting was adjourned and the ladies continued to greet each other and look forward to the upcoming season.
